Martial Arts Gym
A martial arts gym in Philadelphia that teaches two things properly.
Adult programs start with 2 free weeks. You buy only your gear kit — $180 for jiu jitsu, $99 for Muay Thai — yours to keep. Then $49/wk.
The short answer
Logic is a martial arts gym at 1360 N American St in Fishtown, Philadelphia. We teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai to adults, plus kids martial arts for ages 4–13. We deliberately do not offer ten disciplines — two done well beats a menu done shallowly. Adult programs start with 2 free weeks; you buy only your gear kit.
What you actually get
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — grappling and ground fighting, with a white-belt-only beginner schedule.
- Muay Thai — full stand-up striking with hands, elbows, knees, kicks, and clinch.
- Kids martial arts for ages 4–13, five days a week, with SafeSport-certified and background-checked instructors.
- A dedicated women's jiu jitsu program coached by a 2x World Champion.
- An advanced program for experienced grapplers who want real rounds, not a beginner curriculum.
- Free private parking on site, showers, and mats disinfected after every class.

Why we only teach two martial arts
A gym advertising jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, kickboxing, karate, taekwondo, and MMA is telling you something about its priorities. Each of those needs a specialist coach and a real curriculum. Very few gyms can staff seven. We teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. Between them you have the most proven grappling system and the most complete striking system in combat sports. Adding a third would mean doing one of them worse.
How to judge any martial arts gym in Philadelphia
Ask who is actually teaching, and where their rank came from. In jiu jitsu, a legitimate black belt can be traced to a recognised lineage and takes ten to fifteen years — a school that cannot tell you its lineage in one sentence is a warning. Ask whether beginners train separately. Ask what happens in sparring in week one; the correct answer involves the word optional. Ask about the contract and the cancellation terms before you tour, not after. Ask whether kids instructors are background-checked. We wrote the long version of this as a framework you can use on any gym, including ours.
Which program to start with
Want to learn to control someone without striking, and you like problem-solving? Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Want to learn to strike, and you want the hardest conditioning of the two? Muay Thai. Self-defense that works if it goes to the ground? Jiu jitsu. Confidence and discipline for a child? Kids jiu jitsu. Coming back after years off, already experienced? The advanced program. You can train more than one. Most people start with one and add the second after a few months.
