With history as far back as 1560, Muay Thai was originally the preferred hand-to-hand combat style for warfare in Siam. Known as the “Art of Eight Limbs”, it’s style focuses on powerful impact striking through punches, elbows, knees and various kicks. Gaining worldwide popularity over the last two hundred years due to the arts destructive nature, Muay Thai, or “Thai Boxing” became the preferred striking accompaniment to BJJ in Vale Tudo (Brazilian sport fighting) and later a big part of the MMA striking arsenal.
